SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry | Moon Library Café and Academic Success Center

Cornell Health, Cornell University

The two-story 1965 Moon Library had not seen a significant renovation since its original construction. The first phase of the Moon renovations includes improvements to the main entrance to provide enhanced accessibility and flow, revitalization of the lobby area, relocation of the circulation/reference desk, and a small café immediately adjacent to the entrance.

The Moon Library upgrades give the library a new entrance, activated by the cafe, an amenity that the entire campus community enjoys. New high-top seating on either side of the upgraded entrance provides a place for study or a snack from the cafe.

The café includes a coffee/espresso bar, prepared food refrigeration, dry-good merchandiser, sandwich station, and general and cleaning storage. The program and layout offer many ways for modern-day students to approach research and information sharing.

On the lower floor, renovations for a new purpose-built Academic Support Center include tutoring staff offices, four-team rooms for tutoring and group student study, a student lounge, and a conference room for the staff.
