Cornell University | Schurman Hall | Phase 1 Renovation
In the spring of 2018, Cornell University engaged Chiang O’Brien to provide design services to renovate the College of Veterinary Medicine’s (CVM) Schurman Hall, Level One.
The primary project objective was to renovate the CVM’s existing Clinical Pathology Laboratory and Comparative Coagulation Laboratory to provide the maximum allowable new research laboratory space. The remainder of the program includes faculty and research offices, space to accommodate shared laboratory equipment, a new college wellness center, and ADA-compliant, gender-neutral toilet rooms.
Complete replacement of the mechanical system serving the project area includes future planning to incorporate provisions for CVM’s long-term goals for laboratory expansion in the D-Wing. The mechanical system design allows for seamless integration and expansion.
