Senior Architect
Chiang | O’Brien Architects is an award-winning firm specializing in sustainable, innovative design, with our portfolio focused on higher education. We are looking for talented, motivated design professionals to join our team. We currently have a Senior Architect position for candidates with 12+ years of experience, preferably working with higher education or other institutional clients. The role will involve working on projects from conception through construction.
Responsibilities:
- Manage projects that range in scale from interior renovations to full gut building renovations and new buildings, from programming and feasibility through construction administration.
- Maintain integrity of concept and design work.
- Evaluate existing building conditions.
- Manage construction contract administration (CA) services, including conducting site visits and coordination with the owner.
- Coordinate timely, responsive review and responses to submittals and requests for information from the construction team.
Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate design ideas
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate work efforts between multiple disciplines, external consultants, and internal staff
- Knowledge of Revit (proficiency required), AutoCAD, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Suite, Enscape (recommended), and other design communication tools
- Ability to document projects and detail designs in Revit
- Extensive experience with specification writing and oversight
- Extensive experience with review of and analysis of code and regulatory requirements
- Strong organizational, communication, and design skills, and experience with large consultant teams.
- Excellent project delivery experience, including construction documentation and construction contract administration (CA).
- Wide range of knowledge of architectural practice and construction in general.
- Experience with sustainable design, resilient design, and accessibility.
- Excellent English language communication and client interface skills
Qualifications
- US Architectural licensure required, with 12+ years of experience
- LEED Certification or WELL
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or in the future.

Architect / Project Manager

We are looking for talented and motivated design professionals to become part of our team. We currently have positions for an Architect / Project Manager with a minimum of 5+ years of experience. The role will involve working on projects from conception through construction.
Responsibilities:
- Manage projects that range in scale from interior renovations to full gut building renovations and new buildings, from programming and feasibility through construction administration.
- Maintain primary contact and interface with clients in collaboration with firm principals and serve as primary point of contact for consulting team, and construction team.
- Maintain integrity of concept and design work.
- Evaluate existing building conditions.
- Manage construction administration services, including conducting site visits and coordination with the owner.
- Coordinate timely responsive review and responses to submittals and requests for information from the construction team.

Qualifications:
- US Architectural licensure required, with 5-10 years of experience.
- Professional architectural degree from an accredited institution required.
- LEED Certification or WELL a plus
- Legally eligible to work in the United States, without need for employee sponsorship.

Responsibilities:
- Be part of a team for projects that range in scale from interior renovations to full gut building renovations and new buildings, from programming and feasibility through construction contract administration (CA).
- Be part of the team to maintain integrity of concept and design work.
- Evaluate existing building conditions.
- Assist with construction contract administration (CA) services, including site visits.
